What is a kava?

Kava is the root of Piper methysticum, a plant native to the islands of the South Pacific. For centuries it has been ground and prepared as a drink in Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, and Samoa, where it is served at gatherings and social ceremonies. Kava bars have brought the same tradition to the US over the last two decades.

Traditional preparation takes time. The root is pounded, steeped in water, and strained, and the result is an earthy drink with a characteristic tingling, numbing sensation in the mouth. A kava shot condenses that into a couple of ounces you can drink in seconds.

Kava contains no hemp, no THC, no CBD, and no alcohol. It is a botanical, not a cannabis product.

Suggested Use:

Shake well before opening. Start with one 1 fl oz serving, which is half the bottle. Wait at least 45 minutes before deciding whether to take the second serving.

Do not exceed 2 fl oz, one full bottle, in 24 hours. Kava is not intended for daily or continuous use. Take days off between servings rather than using it back to back.

Do not drive or operate machinery after use.
